Company History

July 1985 Nihon Kyoiku Kosha founded in Shinjuku, Tokyo. The classroom launched under the name "Riso Kyoiku Kenkyujo." Each class limited to six students, with the aim of providing a responsible teaching system conducted entirely by full-time instructors.
April 1989 Head Office moved to Mejiro 3-14-3, Toshima, Tokyo.
May 1989 Meimonkai Home Teacher Dispatch Center established. Launch of one-on-one instruction by a team of professional teachers, distinct from student instructors. Mejiro School opened (Tokyo).
March 1990 Developed unique "One-on-one, individual booth teaching system" and name changed to "Tokyo man to man school." Shin-Nakano School opened (Tokyo).
January 1997 The nickname for "Tokyo man to man school" was officially named "TOMAS". Opened the Kawasaki School, expanding into Kanagawa Prefecture.
August 1997 Opened the Tokorozawa School, expanding into Saitama Prefecture.
October 1998 Trade name changed to Riso Kyoiku Co., Ltd.
December 1998 Registered as an OTC Company by the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
March 2000 Decided on "TOMAS" as the nickname for "Tokyo man to man school."
July 2000 Nihon Edunet Co., Ltd. established with the aim of providing fully individualized instruction through real-time, interactive use of the Internet.
March 2001 Listed on the 2nd Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
January 2002 Head Office moved to Mejiro 3-1-40, Toshima, Tokyo.
June 2002 Listed on the 1st Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
September 2002 Meimonkai home teacher dispatch center HQ established in Kanagawa. Meimonkai Yokohama-Ekimae School opened.
November 2002 Meimonkai home teacher dispatch center regional office opened in Chiba prefecture.
December 2002 Meimonkai home teacher dispatch center regional office opened in Saitama Chiba prefecture. School Tour Ship Co., Ltd. established.
January 2003 Meimonkai Co., Ltd. split off as a separate company. Shingakai Co., Ltd. Formed
July 2005 School Tour Ship Co., Ltd. trade name changed to Riso Kyoiku Kikaku Co., Ltd.
August 2011 Our early childhood education division, Shingakai, opened "Shinga's Club Gakudo," a long-hours after-school care program to fully support children from busy families.
December 2011 Shingakai launched "Shinga's Club Takuji," an academically-focused, long-hours childcare service designed to assist working mothers by preparing their children for elementary school admissions through a personalized educational curriculum.
September 2012 Launched "Medic TOMAS," a one-on-one tutoring service specializing in medical school entrance exams.
October 2013 Inter TOMAS Co., Ltd. split off as a separate company. Plus One Kyoiku Co., Ltd. split off as a separate company. Nihon Edunet Co., Ltd. trade name changed to School TOMAS Co., Ltd. Riso Kyoiku Kikaku Co., Ltd. trade name changed to TOMAS Kikaku Co., Ltd.
July 2019 Formed a capital and business alliance with Surugadai Gakuen Educational Institute.
September 2019 Joint company established with Sundai Gakuen to form Sundai TOMAS Co., Ltd.
February 2020 Sundai TOMAS established "Spec.TOMAS" Co., Ltd. Inter TOMAS Co., Ltd. and TOMAS Kikaku Co., Ltd. merged back into Riso Kyoiku Co., Ltd.
August 2020 Cocokara Teachers Co., Ltd. established.
September 2020 Formed a capital and business alliance with Hulic Co., Ltd. (TSE: 3003). Formed a three-party business alliance with Hulic Co., Ltd. and Konami Sports Co., Ltd.
April 2021 Entered into a business alliance with Konami Sports Co., Ltd.
March 2022 Entered into a business alliance with Shingakai Co., Ltd., Kids Smile Holdings Inc., and Kids Smile Project Co., Ltd.
April 2022 Transitioned to the Prime Market of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
May 2024 Became a consolidated subsidiary of Hulic Co., Ltd. through a tender offer and a third-party allotment of new shares.
September 2025 We transitioned to a holding company structure and changed our trade name to Riso Kyoiku Group Co., Ltd.
