At its heart, Riso Kyoiku aims to help students achieve their dream of entering their dream school. However, in an increasingly connected global society, one cannot win with just intellect alone. We live in an age where we live alongside and compete with people from all walks of life. Just cramming information will not be enough–a new style of education is needed.
Plus One Kyoiku was developed with the goal in mind of helping a child find their passion outside of study while still providing the highest quality education. Finding that “something” that sparks joy within a child–be it sports, art, music–teaches them so much that can’t be experienced just by reading it in a textbook. The importance of hard work, how to overcome obstacles, working together with friends, what it means to be considerate, courage, and recognising what makes everyone special and what unites us.

Plus One Kyoiku’s basic ideology starts with showing the real thing and allowing the student to interact with it. There’s no way of knowing what exactly will make that spark in a child’s imagination, so first, it’s important to give them the chance to try as many things as possible. For example, attending the TOMAS Concert performed by the Tokyo Philharmonic during Spring vacation after celebrating their acceptance into their dream school or moving up a year. Alternatively, if they’re more sports inclined, we also host the TOMAS Cup for elementary and middle schoolers in baseball, football, golf, and tennis amongst others.
Study is vital to the growth of every child. At the same time, it's our sincere wish that all children find their passion and develop it to enrich their lives and give them purpose.
